Woody is Helix's nephew. His mother is Helix's sister, a fun and confident girl. His dad is a German standard poodle who goes back to unusual brown lineage blending old working lines with European show lines. As a grown adult at two and a half years, Woody stands about 21.75" tall and weighs about 42lbs. 

​Woodrow has outstanding structure, the thickest brown coat imaginable, and a marvelous balance of substance and style. ​He is more correct than his mother and uncle, with a square outline, a shorter loin and higher tailset. His front and rear angles are excellent without being exaggerated. His head is masculine without being lippy, and has lovely planes and a strong underjaw.  His eyes are dark amber, his pigment is inky dark brown, and he has an incredible hard, thick coat. Both his stance and his movement are straight, powerful, balanced and correct. This dog's body is beautiful, functional and absolutely sound. He also has remarkable genetic diversity.

Woody's temperament is as dynamic and energetic as his body. He is incredibly sweet and affectionate with his humans and friendly with strangers. He loves to play with his canine companions, and is socially deferential and non-status-seeking. Although he can be a higher-arousal dog with some intense drives (including prey drive), he has incredible recall on the trail. At home, he's content to snuggle in my arms, and equally happy to chill out on a dog bed in another part of the house. In terms of barking, he's also my least vocal dog.

Woody loves to work with his handler. We have taken our time with achieving titles, but he is gaining foundations in agility, rally and nosework. He is easy to train and works beautifully for food, toys, praise and personal play. While he's mouthy like his uncle, he has a soft mouth and excellent bite inhibition).

Like our other dogs, Woody has healthy skin, a solid appetite, and can eat anything. He is regularly vaccinated and has received flea and tick prevention with no issues.

We are preparing to finish Woody's health testing in 2026. We have high hopes for this dynamic and charismatic boy! ​
